Privacy Policy

What Prelim Collects

When you use Prelim, the following data is processed:

• Resume text — stored locally in your browser's storage. Never sent to our servers or any third party. Your resume stays on your device.
• Job listing text — extracted from the page you're viewing and sent to our API for analysis. This text is processed by AI (Anthropic's Claude) to generate your match score, keyword analysis, and tailored content.
• An anonymous user token — a randomly generated ID stored in your browser to track your usage count and subscription status. This is not linked to your name, email, or any personal information.

What Prelim Does Not Collect

• Your name, email address, or any contact information (unless you subscribe via Stripe, which handles payment data directly)
• Your browsing history or activity on other pages
• Analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising data

Third-Party Services

• Anthropic (Claude API) — processes job listing text for analysis. Subject to Anthropic's privacy policy.
• Stripe — handles payment processing for Pro subscriptions. Subject to Stripe's privacy policy. Prelim never sees or stores your credit card information.
• Cloudflare — hosts our API. Subject to Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Data Retention

Job listing analysis results are cached for up to 24 hours to improve performance. After that, they are automatically deleted. Your anonymous user token and usage data are retained as long as your account exists.

Data Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. API keys and secrets are stored encrypted. Your resume text never leaves your device.

Your Rights

You can delete all your local data at any time by removing the Prelim extension from Chrome. To delete your server-side data (usage records), contact us at the email below.
